Thordis Fridricksson – Presenter

thordisThordis has the notable distinction of being half Norfolk dumpling and half Nordic wench! Her somewhat exotic name hails from her Icelandic half, but really she’s a Norfolk girl through and through.

Schooled in Norwich, she got a degree in music from Cambridge before returning to the city of her birth to pursue a career in Radio. Her first steps in the world of broadcasting were ‘guest wrangling’ on Community radio station Future Radio, at which she eventually became a producer, part-time presenter and member of staff.

After a year or so she made her way across to BBC Radio Norfolk, firstly as a phone answerer on The Garden Party and latterly as the presenter of the programme (Saturdays 12-2) and also as Stephen Bumfrey’s side-kick The Thunderfairy on weekday afternoons.

Outside the day-job she’s a keen gardener, has two ponies and enjoys tandeming around the flatter parts of East Anglia or, if she’s feeling lazy, taking a ride in her Morris Minor!
